New features available in this release

  * 2.04g Compatible Compression

        PKZIP for OS/2 can compress or extract .ZIP files
        by using the popular 2.04g compression method.

  * OS/2 Self-Extracting Archives

        Create OS/2 self-extracting archives.  This feature allows
        for creation of archives that do not need PKZIP for OS/2
        to extract the files from the archive.  The extraction code
        is build into the archive file.

  * Spanning

        Create spanned .ZIP files.  A spanned file is a .ZIP file
        that resides on more than one floppy disk or other removable
        media.

  * Extended Attribute (EA) Information

        Retain and restore extended attribute information.

  * New Command line

        The new command set will make it easier for new users to
        understand, and for experienced users to customize through
        the use of more configurable parameters.  Help is available
        for all options and commands.

  * Configuration

        PKZIP for OS/2 can be configured for individual needs.

  * HPFS Long Filename Support

        PKZIP for OS/2 can retain and restore OS/2 HPFS Long File
        Names.

  * Single Executable

       Compressing, extracting, fixing corrupt .ZIP files and creating
       self-extracting files all use the same executable.  A separate
       executable is not needed for each different operation.

  * One Step Creation of Self-Extracting Archives

       Self-extracting files can be directly created without having
       to first create a .ZIP file.
