HELP FILE:

Troubleshooting

If Javascript Alerts appear where they didn't before (often from the tags frame)

- Right mouse click on a non active area of the frame the alert came from and select Refresh/Reload Frame.

If Symbol mode duplicates tags or doesn't send the tag (Nav bugs).

If tags are not sent you need to make sure the Symbol is not the last thing on the page (follow it with a space). If tags duplicate over the page there is nothing you can do about it except click Reset and start again. Use Store to store textarea code as you go (upto 4kb).

If the alerts continue you may need to close and re open the program.

If the screen displaying the results doesn't reflect what's in the textarea, click in the textarea then click View again.

If the background image doesn't appear, uncheck and re check the box then send with the right arrow (clear previous head and body code from the textarea first).

If Test windows pop out of nowhere, click TARGET and set/reset it to testview so results appear in the mid left frame.

If Frames fan, depress the screen then bring it back into focus (IE bug).

Long or heavy sessions may cause some cookie settings to be deleted. This occurs because of the current cookie limitations (4 kb each - 40 cookies per server/client). After the 40th cookie is used the first cookie is deleted. This may translate into the username being reset to Guest, HTML case set to uppercase and other settings returning to their default setting. Other side effects may result in the View not displaying an accurate result of the source code. If this occurs, you are best off clicking the Reset button and re initialising the program. If problems still occur you should close and re open the program.

Re entering data (username, html case, etc) will re activate each cookie.

WebFlex uses over 60 cookies in total (depending on which part of the editor you are using) to assist in project development.

Resizing the editor once fully loaded is not recommended if using Netscape. Navigator reloads each page when resized and, as up to 50 pages can be in use at any one time, this does slow the works down.

Which browser is better? For getting the most use out of WebFlex there is no question, IE4+ wins when performing most functions. For frame control, dynamic writing and working with hard drive files IE offers a smoother ride.
