THE HISTORY OF THE LAND In the First Age the Gods ruled the Universe. They played with creation making worlds at will and destroying them just as easily. It came to pass that in their play the Land was made. This land was looked on as fair by the Gods and kept unharmed. As the eons past, the Gods became discontent and began fighting amoungst themselves. Sides were chosen and war broke out. The powers unleashed were tremendous and worlds fell and the universe trembled. When the fighting was over many worlds and spheres were destroyed. The Gods vowed not to interfere directly with the Universe again. They moved back into a passive force and the First Age came to an end. The Second Age was one of growing powers on the earth plane. The Gods kept to their word but handed down the powers in limited fashion to those they favored. Great Wizards appeared in the land. As will happen to all men; as the wizards grew in power, so did their greed. They wished to dominate the whole world. Wars of domination began and the land reeled once again from the dread powers unleashed. Deserts were created from single battles; much was destroyed. The Gods fearing the end of their favorite world struck one blow ending the reign of the power hungry wizards. A new vow is taken by the Gods: No knowledge of power is to be given to the mortals of the world. So ends the Second Age. The Third Age begins as a peaceful time. Mankind rises to be the major race on the land. Magic is almost forgotten. The little that is left is in ways of healing. Very little knowledge is left on the world. One man however finds a secret catch of books. He studies and finds the spell of immortality. His life is prolonged and he becomes a great wizard, the last of his kind. He finds his own world and creates many evils. These he lets loose on the land. His aim, total control of the world. The Gods in desperation pick out certain heros from the different races to battle this evil. They place a spark of Godhood in each and watch them, knowing that the balance of the world hangs in their hands. If these heros can destroy the evil, the world will be saved and the magic will begin to fade forever. If they lose, the evil will grow, take over the world and all will be lost. A Golden Age awaits the land. Can the Heros overcome the Evil One?
