This is a compilation of doom pwads gathered from bbs around the country. Others, like myself, after finishing doom a few times - in a number of different ways - were not content to wait for the commercial release. They, with the help of some excellant editors now available - DEU the editor of choice - have taken it upon themselves to build new levels from scratch! This is no easy task. Days and days went into the testing and creating of these new levels. Each level took a minumum of 36 hours. They have been well crafted and are quite enjoyable. The problem, I found is that they are only one level! I would spend an hour or so getting through an incredibly tough level and discover that the next level in line was the hanger...major let down. Loading the next cool level brought me down to entry level excitment. This is a compilation of all of those levels....surrvive one and head right into the next! I have added a few batch files to aid the installation of this new adventure! run1.batch This batch file zips your doom.wad to about 4.5 Meg. it then unzips the new Lord.wad and starts the game at the appropriate skill level. This proccess requires at least 15 Meg of free space on the harddrive. I have included pkzip and pkunzip in this file for this batch file to utilize. run2.batch This batch file leaves your doom.wad alone....it assumes you have 10 meg of free space on your hard drive. It unzips the new Lord.wad and starts the game at the appropriate level of skill. lord.batch After one of the run.batch files have installed the game, this batch file will load the game to be run each time you wish to play. This means you won't have to reload the entire game each time! Clear.batch When you are all done playing - for good, this batch program will, unzip your doom.wad (if zipped), erase the lord.batch - run1.batch - run2.batch - pkunzip.exe - pkzip.exe. leaving only the clear.bat file to be erased, and your directory as if this entire experience had never been. I put all this together, for those of you who haven't had the time to figure out how to do all this stuff. i admitt to many frustrations, just trying to get these new levels to play! I hope this quick fix will hold you until I can put the next one together! I have had to remove pkunzip.exe and pkzip.exe in an attempt to meet the oppressive uploading rules of America Online. Before you upload this episode to another bbs add thos to files to the package! will make it all much simpler to use - especially to those of you who are new to the doom editing experience. The Kid The Lord Blackfist ******************************************************* This level was created as a simple demonstration of the capabilities of Renegade Graphics Doom Editor. It was created with version 1.0b. I suggest you play through it once without looking at the map. See if you can figure out what original level it is based on. You will find it difficult. This level was designed for single or cooperative play, not deathmatch, though it could be used. It is not really suitable as there are a number of traps which are one-way. This will work with the registered version of Doom 1.2 only. For more information on RGDMED, call Renegade Graphics BBS (615)337-9198 or download the file RGDMED1B.ZIP wherever you can find it. -Joe Pantuso Author of RGDMED *************************************************** I) () () I\/I : KILL OR BE KILLED By WHTRBT1 Dear Doomers This level, called Kill or be Killed, is my newest try at a completely new level. This level was created using that great program, DEU 5.0. I haven't set difficulty yet so no matter what difficulty level you chose, it will be the same. (With the exception of Nightmare level) This level is not the best but still, it's ok. Have fun! These Doc's explain who made which floor and what they used. These were not left out intentionally, and no slight was intended - it was an oversight on my part. I was so excited by the prosspect of sharing these great levels with others, that I neglected to incluse the original docs....some of the wads I used came bare, no documentation. I believe I have located all of the txt files that originally belonged - If you find one you made, without documentation - email me on internet Blackfist1@AOL.com and i'll fix it.
