This is an Episode 1 for registered Doom! It contains many wads, downloaded from Docking bay 94 in vegas. Hence the name. I am still learning how to do that DEU thing, and added my first attempt as the first level in this Episode. If interests you, read the text file found in the wadtxts.zip. Most of these levels came with NO documentation...I have added what there was to the wadtxts.zip. 94.bat will run the wad cleanup.bat will erase all these files: Dm_bay94.wad 94.bat wadtxts.zip cleanup.bat use cleanup when you are finished playing the level for a while If you have any comments, or have Wad files you would like me to include in my next Episode release, E-mail me at: Blackfist1@AOL.Com The sounds have been changed using the dosound program I wrote. The mixes are from the last release DMDOOMED. The Music selections are, slippin, oldtime, dont let, jaws, and more.... *********************************************************************** DESPAIR.TXT ================================================================ Title : Despair Filename : Despair.WAD Author : David L. Farrington Email Address : CIS: 74242,1270 Misc. Author Info : Cromwell, CT Description : After a weekend of R&R, you return to your base to find your unit has not returned from routine maneuvers on Mars. Upon checking in with your CO, you find him a changed person. He only mumbles, "Despair, Despair, Why did it have to be Despair." Your comrades had been sent to pay a routine visit to OCP's genetics and physics lab knicknamed "Despair" because of its remote location Grabbing your sidearm, you head for the hanger to begin your search for the fate of your comrades. This is my first complete level, so please bear this in mind. Please E-Mail me with your comments on Compuserve. Additional Credits : Raphael Quinet and Brendon J Wyber for the DEU editor Colin Reed for the BSP utility Phil TH [Filthy} for the Doomman front end Blackfist for WADRUN Renegade Graphics for DOOMED Windows editor and of course, those great people at id, without which we would not have the pleasure to play DOOM. I would like to thank those great people on CIS for their help and inspirations. Instructions : Put DESPAIR.WAD and DESPAIR.BAT in your DOOM directory, then run the batch file. This takes you right into it, skiping the intro stuff, chooses "Hey, Not Too Rough" skill, and jumps right into the level. Modify the batch file with -skill # as you please. Otherwise, choose New Game, Shores of Hell, and the skill level you preferand play thru as normal. Author Info : LAS VEGAS, NEVADA Description :You and your mates recieve drop ship orders. Xenophoboic possible, also posible microbic origin. Not Good! But as a loyal space Marine, you grap your filter plugs, before grabbing your gear and heading for your drop ship. The mother ship drops out of ultralight, releases the drop ships and drops back into ultralight. Your ship bounces of the hull, before clearing. As a result you barely get to the station before your ship begins to implode. You get out, much later than your mates, with your sidearm. Hopefully, you can borrow some gear from your buds. I created this level as an into to a mission, as well as an intellectual lesson. (meaning I am still trying to learn DEU!) That is why there are so few doors - tough stuff! Author Info : junior MIS major at University of Dayton Description : The DEATH STAR!!! Based on blueprints of a set built for the movie and as well as information contained in the SW RPG. These are the first of many Star Wars levels I will do, and I will eventually replace these levels' textures with my own. Doors needing keys aren't marked by colors primarily because I wanted the levels to look as much like Death Star as possible. -----> If the game runs to slowly, just run an IMPORTANT!-----> easier setting to limit the number of -----> monsters (they slow down slower machines). This isn't as bad as it used to be now that I've used a reject compiler. Level 1 includes the chasm Luke and Leia swang across, the elevators Luke, Han, and Chewie entered on their way to the detention level, and the large corridor with the blast doors. The blueprints covered 1/6 of the level, so I had to make up the rest. Level 2 consists of the detention level, the trash copmactor, and the security station from the RPG. I copied some of the sections for deathmatch reasons. HINT: follow Leia's technique on getting to the trash compactor Additional Credits to : Lucasfilm LTD West End Games ID The makers of DEU, BSP, and REJECT ====================================================================== * Play Information * Episode and Level # : E1M1, E1M2 Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes (not tested) Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes (not tested) Difficulty Settings : Yes New Graphics : None - use SWGFX4.ZIP New Sounds : None - use SWMUSFX2.WAD New Music : None - use SWMUSFX2.WAD Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : E1M1 - Modified STARWAR1.WAD E1M2 - New level from scratch Editor(s) used : DEU 5.2 GCC; BSP11x; REJECT10 Known Bugs : DO NOT SAVEGAME IN LEVEL 2! The number of vertices, objects, etc. overruns the savegame buffer. If you die, it's still possible to finish the level from scratch. Anyways, life in the Doom/Starwars world is supposed to be a bitch! :-) Minor HOM at ends of tunnels in level 2; I trimmed as much detail as I could to bring this down, and didn't think the remaining HOM was bad enough to take out any more detail. Sorry! If you find any others, please let me know. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels.
