DATE= 7/8/94 There should be 68 files in this patch including this file. If not, somethings wrong! T1000 LOOK A LIKES FOR ====================== DOOM 3D (ver 1.2) ================= This is a graphics patch for DOOM ver 1.2. The file replaces the pink demons with a T1000 look a like. It's not exactly like the T1000 in the T2 movie, but it's were the original idea came from. The graphics patch has the same upper body of the T1000 (Silver head, chest, arms etc..) His legs have been replaced with red extended arms. He attacks you by making a huge (I mean HUGE!!) spike come out off his stomach and hitting you. I created the graphics replacement in 3d Studio (actually I took the 50PMAN.3DS file amd took of his legs, hands and feet.) After it had all been rendered in 3d Studio I took the files into Neopaint and touched them up. (I got them to the right screen size. At one point they were so big their heads went through the ceilings on most of the levels. Also I got rid of some very annoying blue and green dots that appeared around the figures.) I have also put some sounds in too. I didn't change all the old demon sounds because I thought it was best to leave these. If you disagree add your own sounds. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ HOW TO GET GRAPHICS REPLACEMENT WORKING. ======================================== Type UPDEMON FIRST! This file makes backups of the original demon files. It puts them in a DEMON directory of your DOOM directory. It also makes backups of the old demon sounds. Now type DEMON. This will now put in the T1000 files. To put back the original demon files type UNDEMON. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This patch is freeware, if you do distribute this graphic replacement please keep this text file with it. You may notice that sometimes the graphics mess up. (For example the figure disappears of the screen or blue and green dots appear around it.) I couldn't fix that. You may also notice that this graphic replacment makes DOOM jerk a bit. I counldn't fix that either. (You also could buy a Pentium or a 486dx4 or a 486dx2. That would fix the problem of it being too slow.) I did test this patch on three machines. On a 486sx 25Mhz with 8 meg of ram. It wasn't that jerky. On a 486dx 33Mhz with 4 meg of ram. Not to bad. (My machine) The sx and dx were the same. A 486dx with 8 meg of ram would be okay. Also I tested it on a 486dx2 66Mhz with 16 meg of ram. Boy did that run smoothly. If you don't think this graphic replacment is very good then you can blame that down to my age (I am only 15). I only did it because I had some spare time on my summer holidays. Look out though because I might make some more graphic patchs. Any way hope you like it. Paul Healey. By the way if you did like this graphics replacment I RECOMMEND you get hold of David Lobser's Barney 3D patch, Energizer Bunny patch (lots and lots of blood) and the Daleks 3D patch. They are good. Extra credits go to:- ===================== Tom Briggs. He and I came up with the original idea. Also he helped me use 3d Studio. (He let me test it on his machine too.) James Healey (my LITTLE brother) Just because he was there to annoy me and Tom while we got on with it. Also he helped me make some of the sound effects. END OF MESSAGE.
