IBM Software for SUN Systems

IBM Software for Sun Systems

New application development and database software for Sun from IBM!

The application development software comprises:

IBM C Set ++ for the Solaris Operating System is a native and optimizing C and C ++ compiler, which supports all C ++ language features, especially exception handling and templates, and offers advanced optimization for C and C ++ applications.

It will be of particular interest to developers wanting a single brand of compiler products for developing and maintaining C and C++ applications on Solaris, OS/2 and AIX platforms.

The database software comprises:

The IBM family of high quality database managers provides you with fast, secure and reliable access to your data. With its many built-in functions for mission-critical applications and its robust database engine, it provides an excellent platform for database application development.

The DB2 Developer's Kit provides facilities to develop applications using the embedded SQL interface or the DB2 Call Level Interface, and comes with precompilers and code samples.

The Distributed Database Connection Services give client and server workstations direct read and update access to host databases.

DataHub lets you administer and monitor all your DB2, Oracle and Sybase databases from a workstation console with an intuitive graphical user interface.

DataJoiner provides heterogeneous join capability, allowing you to join tables located in multiple data sources with a single SQL statement. These data sources can be IBM or non-IBM, relational or non-relational. Users need not know the location or type of data. Functional differences become transparent to the application.
