Welcome the Dawn of a New Standard
Are your clients demanding updated applications?
GUI Look-and-Feel? Modern Features?
Visual PRO/5 and PRO/5 are the answer!!!
Protect Your Investment
No one wants to lose the effort theyÆve invested in applications that work. No one wants to spend productive time learning a new language. Time is money. With Visual PRO/5 and PRO/5, you can make existing applications look and feel fresh using a powerfully enhanced language you already know, and do it without conversion.
Upgrade to GUI Without Starting Over
Using Visual PRO/5, you can upgrade your clients to a modern GUI interface without re-engineering your whole application. The Resource Editor lets you create full-featured dialogs and windows visually and save them for later use in a Visual PRO/5 program. You can migrate your application to GUI at your own pace, incrementally. And you only need to learn the GUI controls not a whole new language.
New Protection for Your ApplicationÆs Data
Avoid the nightmare of rebuilding a mission-critical MKEYED file from yesterdayÆs backup. PRO/5Æs Auditing feature lets you keep a log of updates to a file. In case of a system crash, you can restore the backup file and then apply all the updates to make the data current.
And, Transaction Tracking lets you make related changes to one or more MKEYED files with a guarantee that ALL or NONE of the changes will be made. Related changes are treated as one operation. If a problem occurs before all the operations are finished, the user can discard changes made before the problem happened.
Move to an Open Architecture
Break out of the proprietary-data prison. Now you can give your software a competitive advantage with enterprise data accumulated in third-party applications. With Visual PRO/5 and PRO/5 you can use SQL and ODBC to read the data stored in external RDBMSs and spreadsheets and use it in your application. You can even modify it and write it back to the external application. And Visual PRO/5 lets you share your data with industry standard reporting tools via Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE).
