Not the one I wrote in College (i386 assembler, kinda tied to MSDOS), but
many others do ;)

No, not at all. Why must people think that the Microsoft way is a bad way
and that Amiga following it is inherently wrong when I point this out?

What's bad is that when a multi-billion-dollar company tries to do something,
and a fledgling startup tries to do something, and they're both doing the
SAME thing, the big company tends to do a lot better out of it.

They shouldn't have, IMO. It would have saved them some money.

I see this entire Party Pack farce as a contrived way of drumming up
some much-needed attention. I reckon they saw how Moobunny and
Amiga.org were filling up with nostalgia, Classic-related and
non-AmigaDE chat and decided people weren't fervent enough. $100
for useless rubbish PDA game development kits and you get $100
some hardware or a free copy of an OS you'd get with the hardware
anyway! And a t-shirt! And a blowjob!!

You kinda have to think people saw that last part, I can't see why
else they'd want to buy it.

No upgrade deal from 1.0 either. That's a big oversight no-one
seemed to notice. Your original loyal customer is f**ked over in
favour of NEW loyal customers:

"Buy our products now, pledge to buy more and we'll love you.
Bought our products in the past? Then you were unlucky enough
to want to get a foot in the door! You should have waited!!!"

IMO $200 total on the AmigaDE is way too much for anyone to
spend. Expecting someone to spend $200 on the AmigaDE is crazy.
Expecting them to want to purchase hardware and operating
systems which are essentially tied together and non-related..

(the AmigaDE and AmigaOS4.0-4.2 do not come as a single
package according to the timelines, OS4.2 isn't going to run
on any hardware except the AmigaOne-class stuff.. you're
effectively railroaded into buying this stuff even if you just
want to get a good deal on developing for the Zaurus)

.. Now that's insane.

Thanks
