Sounds like an error with your SCSI controller. The serial option is used in
debugging where you can attach a dumb terminal to your serial port and get the
error output. You can capture this by using an app like Sushi or Sushimi.
However, given that phase5 are defunct, I doubt this bug will get fixed. Make
sure you are using the CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI.driver in MakeCD.

IIRC, Zip drives are not the best way of terminating a SCSI bus. This probably
is not helping your situation.
