I had the same, with a double-sided 32mb EDO ram (70ns). Worked fine.

Yes, even if it only makes your system more stable and pretty. You'll need
the 3.1 roms though.

If you haven't got a cd-rom, or a tower, or gfx card (via mediator or
whatever) then I'd go for them first, as they'll make a bigger difference
to your system than os3.9.

Any size hd I think. Dunno about partition sizes, but theoretically I can't
see a problem there either, although really no-one should have any more
than a 2mb partition at most I think, just in case you lose partitions.
Biggest partition I have is 1mb, and that's to burn cd's to/from.
