That's my thoughts as well.

I don't know TBH. The scanner has two ports - a 50-pin MD, and a 25-pin, the
SCSI connects into one and the terminator goes in the other. I haven't got an
external 68-to-25 cable, so I haven't tried that yet.

I would but I can't IYSWIM...
The CDRW is internal in my A3000T case and the internal cable is certainly not
long enough to even consider it.

Yes, but when it get to the scanner I get an error generated my the CSPPC SCSI
software.

Not sure what you mean here since none of the devices are unused....But
everything shows up here apart from the one drive.
