I have a similar problem. I've installed the base system and (I thought) X
and Gnome.
After I login as root I can't get X started either. 'startx' says "command
not found", and goes back to the "Debian:~#" prompt.
I bought the 3 proper ppc debian cd's.
Any idea what I do from here?
