Subject: | Debian Linux Install? |
Hi All,
I just downloaded Debian Linux m68k for my a1200 today
but have a few questions before I install it, and I
thought someone out there must be able to help :
- I only have an '030/33Mhz and 8mb ram will it run
OK? (I have already partitioned my drive for Linux +
the swap)
- I have downloaded the following archives :
-amigainstall.tar
-base2_2.tar
are these correct? The docs said to get
"amigainstall.Lha" I guess this is the same just Lha
archived instead?, and "base2_0.tar" I guess this is
just an older version of the Kernel?
- How will I launch Debian? Will It be from WB, or
will I need to get a boot-loader like Grub? (I use
grub on my P.C)
- Does Debian run x11?
Any help would be crackin' because I'm not very good
with Linux (Mandrake on my P.C did everything for
me!).
Thanks
