Subject:CDRW Problem

Hiya all...

Just bought a CDRW drive to use mainly for backing my system up and burning
a few mp3 audio cd's, got a problem though, even before I try and see if
the CD Burning software will touch it! :-/

I cant get the Workbench/DOpus to recognise the drive properly. HDToolbox
reads the drive information perfectly fine (gets the drives name and
manufactuerer) so it appears to be reading it on a hardware level.

The drive is connected to the secondary port on my Powerflyer (running
version 5.7 of the software) with the hard disk as master on channel one
with a 24x cdrom as slave on the same channel. The ata3.driver recognises
the drive correctly and I have it set to PIO4 at the moment.

If I insert a audio CD into the drive I get the usual Audio CD icon coming
up without a problem. If I insert a dual format CD (Audio/Data) it will
read the audio side of the disc fine but not the data side and finally, if I
insert a data cd it will not read it at all ('info' says 'CD0: Not a
DOS disk')

As far as I know the mechanism in the drive is a Sanyo unit and this is the
drive make:
LITEON 12x10x32 CD-RW drive Burnproof. Liteons website is
http://www.liteonit.com.tw and a link direct to the drive I have is
http://www.liteonit.com.tw/Eproduct/DM121032IDE.htm

Just getting Workbench to read the drive would do me to start with!!

(I can take it back if there is no chance of it working though cos the PC
bloke knows what I'm trying it in)

Cheers For ANY help! :-)
