I got out of this once, 3 things spring to mind. The disk might be crashing
if it runs out of memory for the validate, depends on size of
partition/amount of RAM. Try boot with no startup for maximum free mem &
just leave it to cook until done.
Otherwise I'd disable bad partition & setup DiskSalv for quickest-possible
start with "most-damaged disk" settings, i.e. have it as an icon somewhere
you can launch it with one click, prepare a boot floppy or put it in
startup.
DS docs aren't immediately obvious if you get it from a cover disk, they're
in locale dir & in their own dir once you "Install". According to these I
would use mode Repair, set for Low Memory anyway and set _KILLDOS_ TOOLTYPE
(last one saved me). Make sure to save prefs so you can get it going ASAP
when you re-enable partition.
Another LAST option, and I really don't advise this unti you've tried all
else! >8-{
If you can format the partition somehow, do so, then IMMEDIATELY use
DiskSalv Unformat. You'll hopefully get most/all of it back.
