Its not that difficult....just go to Multiplayer, select TCP/IP, go to
JOIN a game and for the server use something like quake.demon.co.uk
and away you go :)

You may want to set up you name and character colours too beforehand,
which is in the player setup screen before you JOIN a game.

Hosting a game is just as easy, but you'd tend to only do that if you
want to play a couple of friends, and if your connection is up to
hosting (otherwise you'd have a big advantage over them having a 0
ping to their 300+ ). For hosting, all you need to do is make a note
of the port value and tell your friend(s) your current IP address and
the port number you had set and they'll be able to join you.

You can get your IP from your TCP stack...in Genesis just go to
Network Status and its listed there (I'm sure miami has a similar
feature - but not using it I cant confirm that)
