I had a 1,5GB HD (2,5") and a 3GB HD (very old and slow, 3,5"). I
could backup everything on that one, of course. Never had HD-problems
with those, I used IDEFix with them as well, but without patching the
ROM. I don't think my IDEFix-Board is broken. Everything works fine
for weeks and suddenly, mostly after copying a large amount of files
(I have no idea if there is a connection, it just catched my eye...),
after a reboot one or more partitions are NDOS - but NOT the ones
involved in copying. See what I mean? I don't understand what the
problem is, I only know there IS a problem...
