Highlights of Amiga Active CD 4
Here are a few highlights of this Amiga Active CD. This is only to get you
started, the whole CD is packed with useful and entertaining material. These
highlights contain a few pointers, but half the fun is in exploring the CD yourself.
The Magazine section contains files, software and information related to the articles
and features in the magazine. When reading an article, be sure to check out any
extras on the CD.
This month we have:
- A demo version of Digital Almanac, plus extra data files for use with the full version
- Utilities and datatypes to help you make the most of OS 3.5
- Photographs from Home Electronics World 99
GetCDDB will download and save the CDID file for any of your CDs, using a huge online
database of CD information. MountCD enables your Amiga to automount a CD drive and boot
from it. We also have the latest version of MakeCD. We have our huge collection of CDIDs
with a searchable listing and a full index to all Aminet CDs.
Another selection of impressive demos, including the winners from Spoletium 2.
More games to keep you entertained, from puzzles and strategy games to shoot 'em ups.
We also have MAME, the arcade machine emulator, for PPC users and some helpful WipEout2097
tips from the game's programmer.
There's something for everyone in here. Those who like to admire the work of others will find
images, anims and viewers. If you prefer to create your own materpieces, we have plenty of image
manipulation and creation software, including more plugins for ImageFX.
Software for hardware. Updated drives for graphics cards, a program to improve the stability of
some CyberStormPPC cards and filesystems to connect your PDA to your Amiga. There is also updated
software for PPC cards, IOBlix cards and an improved version of PFS3.
Couch potatoes will find two programs for downloading TV listings from the Internet, whereas those
on the move may prefer software for sending SMS messages to mobile phones. New versions of Voyager
and AmTelnet are in here, along with a range of ARexx scripts to enhance AWeb. News and mail readers
are also represented, and two programs designed to watch your favourite web sites and tell you when
they've changed.
Programming languages, debugging tools, custom classes and example code combine to provide a wealth
of resources for programmers.
Module players, mpeg players and encoders, sample processors and a demo version of ProStationAudio.
Of course, we also have another extensive selection of mods and samples for you.
This drawer contains datatypes, Directory Opus utilities, icons and various other enhancements for
your Amiga system. Directory Opus users will also find the upgrade patches to bring Magellan II up
to the latest specification, including OS 3.5 ColorIcon support.
With forty separate utility programs in here, it's hard to pick out any one in particular.
The range covers finance software, disk backup programs, databases and much, much more.
