- WISR 4 - Software Reuse Process (Collins and Simos)
- Goal: To develop a high level process model for reuse
- Issues:
- Reuse Process address inherent concurrency of creating/managing/using assets
- cascading Create/Manage/Use analogous to business concept of production stages
- Included in create/manage/use cycles are ongoing Plan-Do-Learn cycles
- Process is incremental - assets used to create other assets
- Proposal: conference participants strive to clarify terminology usage and establish a shared lexicon.
-
WISR 5 - Foundations and Process: Reuse Fundamentals, Process Models, and Maturity Models
- Goal: To determine whether or not a concensus model would have enough content to be a valuable starting point for
different organizations
- Candidate Software Reuse Process Models:
- STARS Conceptual Framework for Reusbable Processes (Richard Creps)
- HP Reuse Process Model
- ESPRIT-2's REBOOT project
- Bank of Montreal
- Liesbeth Dusink's (UDelft) "Reuse Space" Model
- Reuse Capability Model of SPC
- STARS Reuse Strategies Model
- Issues for Comparison:
- HP an instantiation CFRP Model
- Asset Learning should be a separate category from Asset Utilization
- Relocatability of Asset Creation Activities problematic
- Single vs. Multiple Design Paradigms
- More work needs to be done concerning Process Models (should maturity model recognize the need for fundamentally different processes of organizational change?)
