Domain Model Maintainer

Elke, age 30, is a librarian. She will work with Derek to adapt the domain model as changes in the domain occur. She is responsible for ensuring that the changes are made, and disseminating information about the changes - what they are and where to find them - to potential users. To do this she employs the communications infrastructure of the organization - network, email, bulletin board - as well as library tools and classification schemata. She relies on the domain analysis project manager (who will turn out to be Jane) to fund her activity; she relies on Derek, the Domain Analyst, to pass his results over to her; and she relies indirectly on the Domain Expert to make changes in the domain known. She is challenged by these dependencies, especially by the requirement to deal with products and information that she did not construct herself. She is frustrated when the Domain Expert fails to inform Derek of changes, perhaps because he does not realize their impact on the domain model. Part of Elke's motivation is the potential opportunity to become a domain analyst.
