"PRAY"

"PRAY" is the newest project from Douglas Spotted Eagle. This recording is yet another step in the musical journey of Douglas Spotted Eagle. "A world without Prayer has no Center to it" explains Spot. Drawing from inspirations found all around the world, Spot has created an hour of relaxing, smooth music to appease tension, create peace, and generate a feeling of release. "Prayer is the bridge between the visible and invisible world" says Douglas, "and whether it's an atheist looking inside themselves for strength, or someone journeying thousands of miles to kneel fervently at a sacred place, they are both forms of prayer. Prayer is one of the many tools that society may use to heal it's self. Prayer is one of the simplest of means for a person to heal themselves. And most importantly, when it seems that there is nothing left, there is always prayer, and as long as there is prayer, there is hope....."

Featuring Herman Begay, (Dine') Rob Greyhill, (Dine/heard on Costner's 500 Nations series, seen on Touched by an Angel) Samantha Rainbow, (Lakota) Wil Numkena, (Hopi, who is also heard on the Sacred Spirits release) and Amy Schuster sharing vocal trax, the record also features guest appearances by master bassist Michael Manring, sound design by Douglas Morton, saxophone tracks by Marion Meadows, (Cherokee) Lynelle Kirkwood, (Celtic Harp) Genesis/Phil Collins guitarist Daryl Stuermer, and other special guests that will delight and surprise all.

"PRAY" was released on the Higher Octave Music label on May 19, 1998. "PRAY" was mastered using 24 bit hdcd.gif (881 bytes) encoding.  This means that if you have a decoder, the sound is more full, less compressed, and sounds the same as when it was recorded in the studio. Even if you don't have a decoder the sound is still more dynamic than an unencoded compact disc. Pretty amazing. Check out their website for a full listing of recordings mastered with this incredible process.
