Gathering of Nations Homepage......The World's "Biggest" Powwow!! This is an amazing event, drawing nearly 100,000 people to Albuquerque, New Mexico each April. Thousands of dancers, hundreds of drummers and singers, this is something everyone should see at least once in their lifetime, and once seen, you're hooked!
Special Congratulations to Miss April Whittemore, the new Miss Indian World 98/99. She's a Tuscarora/Lumbee-Cheraw from Fayetteville, NC. Outgoing Miss Indian World is Shayai Lucero, a Laguna from New Mexico. Miss Lucero acted as an emcee at one of the Voices of Native America performances. She is an awesome representative of Indigenous People!
Lakota Nation Homepage
Cheyenne River Sioux Homepage
Lakota Information page.....This page has some incredible links!! Perhaps the most complete page of Native links there is.
Onieda Recipe page
National Museum of the American Indian....More great links here...
Native Instruments........These are from the First Nations in Canada. Excellent photos and descriptions
Native Dance..........Lots of info here, but lots of advertisements to wade through too.
Canadian and Northwestern Nations toys for children.....and for the maybe not so young?!
Drum Group listings, addresses, phone numbers, etc. Some of these are out of date, but most are still good.
Dine' Alliance....a group committed to preserving the Black Mesa Lands for the Dine', and not for the Hopi and US Government
Native Astronomy information......Several pages of Native views of the stars and their meanings in traditional and contemporary lifetimes. One of the best pages I've found on the net'. Not full of hokey New Age "ism's".
Charles Littleleaf a flute player from Oregon, his website has won several awards. He's got a great sound, and a real nice guy to boot! Awesome graphics on his pages too......
JazzTrax-One of the awesome radio syndicates out there, Art Good is a terrific DJ, and runs a great show.....Besides, they picked me as the "DEBUT JAZZ ARTIST OF THE YEAR-1996"
SOAR Records-The ONLY Native American owned, distributed, and operated record label there is in the USA. They sell everything in Native music, from Native American Church music to contemporary rock. They are the only distributor for several pieces of Native music outside the 'corporate' world as well. They have Mirabal, Ulali, Robbie Robertson, my Windham Hell release.. and lots more....
EGG ART- This site is really cool, because it features Native made, and Native inspired art, including Native art on Emu and Ostrich eggs.....Plus they feature King Kuka, who did my 'Common Ground" album cover..
Another Cool Record Store, that has a huge selection of Native American Music. Check em' out!!
A page of Flute stuff, including Histories, making, buying, and interviews. One of the better flute sites I've seen. Their information is not updated, nor does it include a lot of the great flute players out there such as Doc Nevaquaya, Stan Snake, etc, but is still well worth the visit.
WindsSong Flutes ..Scott Loomis makes many of my flutes. In my opinion, he makes one of the finest concert flutes available. A WIDE variety of flutes, prices, and options.
