23-01-97 - Prudish television bosses in Britain have banned a new video from Icelandic pop queen BJORK because they
say showing her breasts "is too raunchy." The steamy promo film for her new single I MISS YOU features semi-naked
shots of Bjork as herself and as a cartoon-style character. But the film's maker JOHN KRICFALUSI - creator of cult
cartoon series REN AND STIMPY - has had to produce a second, cleaned up version of the $400,000 video before
BBC bosses would allow it to be shown on chart show TOP OF THE POPS. One BBC source says, "No one was
quite sure what to make of the video. It's not often you get a pop group coming up with a video that mixes cartoon
sequences with real footage of the stars. In the end it was decided not to screen the shots where Bjork displayed her
boobs." The video was so technically complex that it took 10 months to finish.
