DANTEÕS PEAK - THE MOVIE

Charlie Dalton (Pierce Brosnan) is a volcanologist who returns to work from a leave of 
absence following the death of his wife on an earlier volcanic expedition. As soon as he is 
back, he is sent to study volcanic activity in the small town of DanteÕs Peak where he finds 
evidence that the nearby mountain is about to explode. After trying in vain to warn the 
unbelieving townspeople to evacuate, he convinces the mayor, Rachel (Linda Hamilton) to            
investigate further. In the hills above the town they discover the first victims of the 
volcano, four researchers and tourists who have been boiled alive by the local hot springs. 
Now convinced, the mayor returns to town to try and begin the evacuation Charlie had 
previously suggested. But itÕs too late, the mountain explodes and DanteÕs Peak becomes 
Hell on Earth. Charlie and Rachel flee the town and go in search of RachelÕs children who 
have in turn gone into the hills to rescue their grandmother, Ruth. On their way into the 
hills there is a landslide and the road behind them is totally blocked. They drive on and find 
the others but their vehicles are destroyed in an earthquake. They are trapped. Their only 
way down the self-destructing mountain is to cross a lake that has become acidic due to the 
poisonous gases being released by the volcano. With their boat dissolving around them and 
a river of lava on the far side of the mountain, they find themselves in a battle for survival 
against the mightiest force nature can unleash, the awesome power of DanteÕs Peak.
