About IACR

The Institute of Arable Crops Research comprises Rothamsted, Long Ashton Research Station, and Broom's Barn and is supported by the BBSRC, MAFF, SBRE Fund, ODA, other Government Departments, and by Industry and International organisations. The basis of the Institute is a cooperation agreement between Rothamsted, Long Ashton and other parties.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Institute is to do high quality basic, strategic and applied research, with relevant postgraduate training, in biological and related sciences; integrating these to optimise existing and novel crop production systems and their interactions with the environment. Through national and international partnerships wherever appropriate, IACR will place special emphasis on meeting the needs of the users of its research and training output, thereby enhancing the United Kingdom's industrial competitiveness and quality of life.
