Technical Details on The EMBL WWW Server
This page contains references to various technical aspects related to the management of this WWW Server that can be of interest to other Webmasters.
Usage
With the absence of any agreed policy on the appropriate way of estimating the
usage of the WWW infoserver, usage is assessed by the crude number of hits
recorded in the access.log file from the standard
httpd daemon. Graphical representations are performed using public domain
software hereafter described. All the public domain software packages have been
tested; the one used here is a preferred package (wusage 3.2)
. To present, the maximum access has been 56926
hits, and was observed during calendar week 21 of the current year 1995.
Disk space used so far equals 78.718 Mbytes.
