Iceland Review magazine has continued to appear on a quarterly basis ever since and has grown significantly in both stature and circulation over the years.
Still in the ownership of one of its original founders, Haraldur J. Hamar, Iceland Review is a private enterprise, completely independent of all financial support from official organizations.
Over the years, a variety of other publishing activities have been added to the work of this pioneering magazine. News From Iceland monthly was launched in 1975 and is the only regular English-language newspaper from Iceland, with subscribers in almost 100 countries all over the world.
The two in-flight magazines of national carrier Icelandair, Atlantica (for international routes) and Upphátt (for domestic routes) are also published by Iceland Review.
To meet the ever-increasing demand for an English-language publication dealing primarily with matters relating to business, Iceland Business quarterly was launched by Iceland Review in 1994.
Today Iceland Review is the largest publisher of magazines and
books about Iceland - and matters relating to the country - in languages other than Icelandic.
Iceland Review has never lost sight of its original aims. As ever its goal remains contributing to greater international awareness of Iceland, the life and work of the nation, its culture and unfailing pursuit of progress.
The offices of Iceland Review occupy the fourth floor of this building at Höfdabakki 9 in Reykjavík. The Iceland Review staff now numbers 31 dedicated people.
