General Information

The formation of EXACT in 1967 followed a proposal by the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris for a cooperative scheme designed to exchange information on electronic components and related materials.

The companies participating in the scheme provide EXACT with data generated by their companies and this is then circulated to other EXACT Subscribers. In this way the Subscribers obtain the benefit of each others knowledge.

Technology Reports, Supply Specifications, Visit Reports and Test Reports are accepted for circulation. More informal information is circulated by e-mail.

The reports are circulated in various media including CD-ROM, microfiche and hard copy.

EXACT saves both time and money.

Some subscribers have stated that if one report can be used in their own procedures instead of carrying our their own investigations the saving will be more than the annual fee. In order to encourage members to send in reports a bonus scheme has been introduced. This makes refunds to subscribers who supply reports for circulation so their subscription is reduced.
