Welcome to the homepage of UniServe Australia, an initiative of the Committee for the Advancement of University Teaching (CAUT).
The purpose of the UniServe Australia network
is to enhance the quality of university teaching in Australian institutions, by maintaining
and publishing relevant, up to date and innovative material. It will assess, evaluate and distribute
information about university teaching and learning.
The network consists of
a coordinating centre, and five subject specific clearinghouses as listed below:
UniServe Clearinghouse Sites
- UniServe Coordinating Centre
- non discipline specific material that relates to teaching and learning
- UniServe Engineering
- fields covered include all engineering disciplines taught in Australian universities and fields covered by
processing technology.
- UniServe Health
- fields covered include all disciplines of medicine, the allied health professions and nursing
but initially focussing on medicine, occupational therapy, dietetics and nursing.
- UniServe Humanities and Social Science (ultiBASE)
- fields include the disciplines and professions associated
with social sciences and humanities embracing social sciences and
communication; business; art and design; education; humanities; environmental
design and construction.
- UniServe Law
- fields covered include Australian law and legally related materials.
- UniServe Science
- fields covered include Physical Sciences: physics, chemistry; Life Sciences: biology, psychology, biochemistry;
Earth Sciences: geology, geography.
