RRM2500 Remote Router&Modem provides an affordable low-cost/high performance
complete and compact solution for interconnecting remotely located Ethernet TCP/IP LANs.
RRM2500 interconnects remote LANs over SLIP, and internal modem. RRM2500 extends
LAN features and functions across wide area networks (WANs) in a way that is fully
compatible with TCP/IP based applications.
Because LAN traffic is routed rather than bridged, remote performances are improved since
only essential network traffic is forwarded over the WAN link. In compact case RRM2500
incorporates both Remote Router and application apropriate modem. This way
communication hardware is optimized. Modem section of the unit includes one of the CCITT
fully compatible modems.
SiGnet RRM2500 Remote Router&Modem supports TCP/IP Ethernet LAN protocols, as well as
SLIP protocol.
CCITT fully compatible modems are options that custemer can choose. Modems that comply the
following standards are awailable:
- V.22/V.22bis 1200/2400 bps
- V.32 4800/9600 bps
- V.32 bis 7,2k/12k/14.4k bps
- V.32 terbo 19,2k bps
- V.FC ( V.34 ) 28,8k bps
including
- V.42 Error Correction ( LAPM ) and
- V.42 bis Data Compression ( up to 4:1)
SiGnet RRM2500 is available with up to 2 Ethernet LAN connections and up to 2 modem WAN
connections.
The SiGnet RRM2500 is a plug and play device. Status light provides continuous local display of
LAN activity, router and modem status and link activity. The RRM2500 may be configured through
the network from a remote management station or locally from a console terminal attached to the
serial port.
The SiGnet RRM2500 is a low cost, highly reliable, high performance remote router&modem. Its
performance is limited only by the speed of the communications link.
