Ei SiGraf's SiGnet LB1000 Local Ethernet Bridge provides an affordable low cost / high performance
solution for interconnecting LANs based on Ethernet and IEE 802.3 standards. The SiGnet LB1000
interconnects Ethernet segment to form a single transparent network environment. Using SiGnet
LB1000 to partition a LAN into subnetworks increases overall network bandwidth security and confines
failures to a single segment.
The Bridge operates at the data link layer, filtering and forwarding traffic according to Ethernet addresses.
The operation of the Bridge is transparent to all higher level protocols such as TCP/IP or Novell IPX ,
DECnet or ISO.
The Bridge uses an automatic self-learning algorithm to build LAN tables of local and remote nodes.
There is no need to preconfigure or load the Bridge's address tables with the specific Ethernet nodes
connected to the LANs. Configuration and operation of the Bridge is totally automatic and does not require
the involvement of an operator or system manager.
The SiGnet LB1000 is a low cost, highly reliable, high performance local Ethernet bridge. It filters at
25,000 packets per second (PPS) and forwards at 10,000 PPS. The SiGnet LB1000 is an attractive
alternative to Ethernet repeaters, since it offers the functional advantages of bridge at minimal additional
cost.
The SiGnet LB1000 is a plug and play device. Network configuration is automatic, enabling simple
installation, and operation without operator intervention. No special training is needed. Once the
SiGnet LB1000 is installed, it begins operating automatically.The SiGnet LB1000 has LED-indication
for providing continuous display of LAN activity, and system status on its front panel.
