To 50 cm. The white rock-rose has multiple branches from the base of the plant, and younger stems are covered with small white hairs. This is a fairly rare wildflower.
Flowers
Mar-June. White with a yellow center and yellow stamen, 5 petals, 15-30 mm diameter. The flowers grow in clusters of 3 to 10 on a stem. The 3 outer sepals are hairy and striped; the 2 inner sepals are very small.
Leaves
Linear to lance-shaped, 30 mm long, in opposite pairs. They are covered with greyish or whitish hairs, especially on the undersides, and the edges are rolled under.
Habitat
Dry grassy and rocky places, dry hills.
