Notes:

1. q vernier will be set at 35°, a crosspointer will null at 5°..

2. Emergency lakes - Three Sisters

3. Flight duration: Approximately 10 minutes.

4. Flight plan based on 58,500# thrust engine (33,500# for 50%). Total burn time at 100% = 81 sec. (140 sec at 50%). Launch wt. = 32,800#, burnout wt. = 15,000#.

Ground Rules For No Launch: l. Malfunction of any SAS channels

2. Malfunction of inertial platform attitudes

3. Malfunction of ball nose

4. APU gearbox pressure less than 5.6 psa.

5. In case of no launch, B-52 will return to Edwards via the camera track if practicable. X-15 pilot will actuate the KC-1 camera.

Alternate Situation After Launch: 1. For radio or radar failure, proceed as planned .

2. If engine light cannot be accomplished within 30 sec, jettison propellants and land at Hidden Hills.

3. For total pitch damper failure, proceed as planned..

4. For delayed engine light, proceed, pushover to zero g at 76 seconds (65,000 ft).

5. For total roll damper failure, turn yaw damper off, proceed, pushover to a = 2° at 71 sec.

6. For yaw damper failure, proceed, pushover to a = 2° at 71 sec.

7. For ball nose failure, rotate at 1.5 g, proceed as planned, maintain Hdot = 0 after 92 seconds.

8. For attitude failure, use 5 1/2° a in place of 20°q, proceed as planned.

9. For inadvertent engine shutdown:

0 - 78 sec Hidden Hills

79 - 102 sec Three Sisters

102 - Up Edwards
