District-Wide Administrators

Dr. Lonnie Myers, Superintendent

It is truly exciting for me to begin my third year as Superintendent of the Mountain Home School District.  I have the feeling of ôfamilyö as we work together now.  For me, it is a tremendous blessing to work with our students and staff.  Our students truly are our most effective marketing tool for our successes each year.  The students leave Mountain Home High School with 13 valuable years of nurturing, teaching, and mentoring from the most dedicated staff I have ever been around.  This will be a year in which I hope all of our community will discover what great kids we have and how well they represent our school and community.á

I completely endorse and support our Mission and Vision Statement:  Committed to Excellence in EducationàEvery Student-Every Time!  We have guiding principles embedded in our belief system listed below.  We donÆt want to just say the words of our mission and vision out loudà we want to model them through our actions.  We want it to become apparent that we are ôCommitted to Excellence in Education-Every Student-Every Timeö

We believe in:

Cultivating and supporting life-long learners.

Challenging every student to his or her highest potential.

Partnering with home, school, and community for student success.

Acknowledging that students must share in the responsibility for learning.

Preparing students to be contributing citizens in the 21st Century.

Practicing good citizenship among students and staff.

Providing a safe, nurturing, and orderly environment as an essential part of learning.

As Superintendent of Mountain Home School District, I could not be more pleased with the results of the work on meeting the expectations of our mission, vision and belief system.  Please contact me if I can do anything to share what great things are going on in Mountain Home School District.  Please check other parts of our website for test scores and other valuable information.

I continue to be so proud of the value presented to our community in terms of our gratitude for the financial commitment from taxpayers in Mountain Home.  I call the following statement The Big Picture for our school district.  Mountain Home Students are in the upper 20% of academic achievement in the state of Arkansas while the citizens of Mountain Home are in the lower 11.5% of taxpayer obligation in the state of Arkansas.  We appreciate so much the support of our community and we strive daily to give our citizens the best results possible for the financial contributions they so generously contribute to us.

I love our school and community!  Thank you for allowing me to serve as your superintendent.

Sincerely,

Lonnie Myers, Ed.D.
