District-Wide Administrators

Dr. Lonnie Myers, Superintendent

It is such an honor to serve as Superintendent in the Mountain Home School District!   As a new superintendent, I have been meeting with groups, individuals and departments, listening and learning from the people here.  I have discovered that the citizens of Mountain Home have great passion for their community and for their school.  The energy, enthusiasm, and hope displayed by the students and employees of this district are inspiring to me and I believe any parent that chooses to send their children to Mountain Home School District will find dedicated staff ready and willing to give assistance.

The school is the center of this community and the standards of excellence are set very high.  People want this school to be successful.  Because of this high standard, my commitment will be to focus on what is working well and develop ways to be even more successful.  We will establish a strong philosophical base to work from, provide educationally sound curriculum and instruction, and be fiscally responsible with the finances that are needed to operate this district at an exemplary level.

I will provide supportive and positive leadership to give our staff direction, but also allow them to do what they are trained to do.  I am positive, approachable and empowering.  I am not a micromanager.  I like to trust and empower other people, but I will hold myself as well as others accountable for professionalism in the workplace.

A successful school is not measured by the largest budget, the latest technology or the most extra-curricular activities.  It is the interactions between the students and school employees.   As a matter of fact, the single most influential factor in the success of each student is the teacher.  We must always be seeking ways to improve the instruction in our schools so that each student has the optimum opportunity to learn.

I will be a regular visitor to the school sites for the purpose of interacting with teachers and students.  I look forward to wonderful friendships in Mountain Home that will endure for a lifetime.  If you are new to this community, please feel free to come by with your children.  I would love to meet you!
