Richard Padget
is in his 24th year in his position as Transportation Director. He is responsible for the
training and hiring of bus drivers. He is in charge of
conducting the monthly safety meeting for Mountain Home Public
Schools.

In conjunction
with the building principals, Mary Ing, the Assistant Transportation
Director, is responsible for all bus discipline and reports and
coordinating activity trip drivers. Mary is also
responsible for maintaining the auxiliary services portion of our
district's website. This is Mary's 3rd
year in this position. She has been with Mountain Home Public

Henry Hubbard and Steve Gunter have over 40 years
total mechanic experience.
The two mechanics maintain and service 53 buses as well as
all the maintenance fleet and all lawn tractors for the district.

- Our buses
run approximately 2,400 miles around Mountain Home and in
Baxter County daily.
The number of students transported daily varies between
2,200 and 2,300 or approximately 56% of the student
enrollment.

buses are equipped with two-way radios and video cameras
|
- In
inclement weather buses travel ôsnow
routesö.
These are the routes that do not leave the main
highways. Parents
are informed at the beginning of the school year the roads
that will be traveled on snow days. We try to notify the
radio stations in the area by 6:00 a.m. on snow days so
parents are aware of the locations the students will be picked
up in the morning and dropped off in the afternoon.
