Welcome to the National Biological Service (NBS) Information Transfer Center (ITC) Library Server. This facility is accessible to anyone with the ability to exchange electronic mail with the NBS through the USFWS communications backbone.

The Library Server is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All inquiries or requests should be addressed to NBSITCLIB. Within the Department of Interior, that username may be addressed at ~IFWS.

The SUBJECT LINE of your email to this username contains the command that triggers the response to your inquiry. The National Biological Service's Information Transfer Center announces the availability of an electronic version of the much sought-after report entitled "Endangered Ecosystems of the United States: A Preliminary Assessment of Loss and Degradation." This is the first in a continuing series of NBS reports to be released electronically prior to publication in hard copy.

We expect to begin distributing hard copies to recipients on the NBS mailing list about March 21. To obtain the electronic version (sans photographs), send a message to this library server with SEND ECOSYSTEMS MS in the subject line. Watch for more information on these electronic reports.
