The International Statistical Programs Center (ISPC) is responsible for planning and conducting the Census Bureau's foreign consultation, technical assistance, and training programs for developing countries and other organizations that need such services. It represents the Census Bureau in international activities. It also conducts research on census, survey, statistical systems, and data processing methodologies used by developing countries. The ISPC carries out the Census Bureau's international publications exchange and visitors programs.
The International Programs area provides training and technical assistance to other countries in support of surveys, censuses, and related statistical and data processing activities. Emphasis is placed on imparting practical skills which statisticians and data processing specialists can apply in the statistical programs of their countries. The file READ.ME contains further information about the reimbursable programs that this area supports and a description of the software available on the Internet.
