NODC Oceanographic Databases

The National Oceanographic Data Center holds global databases of physical, chemical, and biological data, as well as numerous individual datasets. Data can be selectively retrieved from the major databases by geographic area, time period, cruise, or other criteria.

Following is a summary of the NODC's major oceanographic databases.
More detailed information about these databases--including complete record layouts--is available from the NODC Gopher server.
