For those of you wondering what the "QUICK ACCESS" buttons mean, here is a list defining their meaning. You will notice the
Quick Access
button bar throughout ArchNet. It is put in place so the ArchNet surfer can move to another area of ArchNet quickly without having to press the good old Mosaic
back
button repeatedly (or whatever mechanism your browser utilizes).

We thought you'd like to know what ArchNet's server configuration is, so we give you the following. The server is currently being provided by the Homer Babbidge Library (quite generously, I might add), which is the home of the
Spirit of UConn
gopher/WWW system. It is a SPARCstation 10 model 41 with 32 MB RAM, 1.2 GB storage. The server is running gopher Gopher 2.0.16 and NCSA HTTPD v. 1.3.
The system is being upgraded (SOON!) with 4.0+ GB storage and additional RAM. We hope to be receiving some funding in the near future which will allow us to dedicate more time to enhancing ArchNet as a tool for all Archaeologists, not just those working in the Northeast United States (though we hope you find this system of some use regardless of the focus!). If funding is secured, we will be moving ArchNet from its current home to a new and dedicated system, which will NOT be a Macintosh or a PC (one requires a computer with a little gusto to serve the Web).
