Minimum System Requirements for 'We the People' CD-ROM



WINDOWS:
1. OS: Windows 95 or higher
2. Processor: Intel Pentium (or equivalent) and faster
3. RAM: 24 MB 
4. Monitor: 800X600 resolution, minimum 256 colors
5. CD-ROM drive: 2X speed or faster
6. Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, version 4.0 or higher.
   The installer for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 is
   provided on the CD-ROM in the 'installers' folder.
7. QuickTime: QuickTime 3.0 or higher. The QuickTime 4.1.2 installer is provided on the
   CD-ROM in the 'installers' folder.
8. Macromedia Shockwave Player 7.0 or higher. The Shockwave Player (including Flash) is provided on the CD-ROM in the    installers folder.

QUICK START:
1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Open the 'We the People' CD-ROM from Windows (via Explorer, My Computer, or Start/Run).  
3. Double-click "quickstart.html"  (If opening via Start/Run type "X:\quickstart.html" where X refers your CD-ROM drive).



MACINTOSH:
1. OS 7.5 or higher
2. Processor: Power PC or higher
3. RAM: 24 MB 
4. Monitor: 800X600 resolution, minimum 256 colors
5. CD-ROM drive: 2X speed or faster
6. Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, version 4.0 or higher.
   The installer for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 is provided on the CD-ROM in the 'installers' folder.
7. QuickTime: QuickTime 3.0 or higher. The QuickTime 4.1.2 installer is provided on the
   CD-ROM in the 'installers' folder.
8. Macromedia Shockwave Player 7.0 or higher.The Shockwave Player (including Flash) is provided on the CD-ROM in the       installers folder.

QUICK START:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click on the CD-ROM icon, which will say "WTP4"
3. Double-click on the file named "quickstart"


SETUP:

This program requires an Internet browser with Javascript enabled in order to run.
If you cannot run 'We the People' CD-ROM, install the Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.X browser which is found in the Installers folder.
Once the browser is installed, double-click on the setup.html icon and click on the "Browser Test" button.


TO INSTALL MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 5.X

WINDOWS:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Open the 'We the People' CD-ROM from Windows (via Explorer, My Computer, or Start/Run).
3. Double-click on the "Installers" folder
4. Double-click on the "Internet Explorer 5.X" folder
5. Double-click on the file named "ie5setup.exe" and follow the on-screen directions.

MACINTOSH:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click on the CD-ROM drive icon, which will say "WTP4"
3. Double-click on the "Installers" folder
4. Copy the"Internet Explorer 5" folder to your desktop.
5. Follow the on-screen directions.




TO INSTALL QuickTime 4.1.2

WINDOWS:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Open the 'We the People' CD-ROM from Windows (via Explorer, My Computer, or Start/Run).
3. Double-click on the "Installers" folder
4. Double-click on the "QuickTime" folder
5. Double-click on the file named "QuickTimeInstaller.exe" and follow the on-screen directions.

MACINTOSH:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click on the CD-ROM drive icon, which will say "WTP4"
3. Double-click on the "Installers" folder
4. Double-click on the "QuickTime" folder
5. Double-click on the file named "QuickTime Installer.smi" and follow the on-screen directions.

TO INSTALL SHOCKWAVE 8.0 (and Flash)

WINDOWS:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Open the 'We the People' CD-ROM from Windows (via Explorer, My Computer, or Start/Run).
3. Double-click on the "Installers" folder
4. Double-click on the "Flash_Shock" folder
5. Double-click on the file named "Shockwave_Installer_Full.exe" and follow the on-screen directions.

MACINTOSH:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click on the CD-ROM drive icon, which will say "WTP4"
3. Double-click on the "Installers" folder
4. Double-click on the "Flash_Shock" folder
5. Double-click on the file named "Shockwave Installer" and follow the on-screen directions.
6. Double-click on the file named "Flash 5 Installer" and follow the on-screen directions.
