     ViewFinder for Windows

ViewFinder is a spreadsheet, data graphics application intended
primarily for scientific uses.

It offers a comprehensive range of features for preparing X-Y charts
of numerical data, together with associated text labelling, for 
high-quality presentation purposes (overheads, 35mm slides, documents).

It has been in use by the author and colleagues for over 8 years, and 
extensively in university research & teaching contexts. This is the 
first version for Microsoft Windows.

Requirements
============

PC running Windows 3.1 or later.
About 2 Mb disk space.


Installation
============

If you have obtained the .ZIP distribution file VFWxxx.ZIP, unzip this 
in a temporary directory and run the setup program SETUP.EXE using Program
Manager (Win 3.1) or Explorer (Win 95).

After installation, delete the unzipped files from the temporary directory.

If you are using a distribution disk, just run SETUP.EXE as above.


Getting Help
============

Various demonstration files (DEMOxx.VF3) are provided to illustrate
features of the program.

Online help is available through the Help Menu when ViewFinder is 
running. There is no printed manual.
