1. Purpose of the program:

FractMus 2.5 is a Win32 application that creates Fractal/Algorithmic music using mathematical 
algorithms from chaotic dynamics, fractals, and number-theory.  Its features include: 
full midi-file support, sixteen independent voices, complete control of midi parameters 
(instrumentation, voice dynamics, channels, etc), 8 note-generating algorithms, 14 predefined 
musical scales (with the possibility of creating user-defined ones), 11 predefined note 
durations (plus user-defined ones), melody manipulation support (inversion, etc), 
full online-documentation/help and many more.


2. Installation.

Just unzip frctmus25.zip into a new directory and run setup.exe


**NOTE**

if you have FractMus v1 in your computer and want to uninstall it (using the uninstall option), 
you must do so BEFORE installing version 2.5.  If you uninstall FractMus v1 after installing v2.5 you
will have to re-install v2.5 again.  Your new *.fms files will not be deleted.


3. Status of the program and distribution.

FractMus 2.5 is FREEWARE, (c) 1997-1998 by Gustavo Diaz-Jerez.
FractMus can be freely distributed in its unmodified form and 
included it in any software collection such as CD-ROM's but may NOT be sold.
