The translation process was also aided by the German to English translation section of my Readers Digest Great Encyclopedic Dictionary. `331Arndt Dettke`, (http://www.godot64.de) the author of GoDot, provided valuable assistance by proofreading my translations. Where differences existed between Arndt's corrections and what is displayed on the English screen and Help Bubbles I elected to maintain consistency with what the English user would see on the screen. In the translation some adjustment was made to the text to make up for differences in the English and German keyboard layouts. The Control Codes are generated using the `40100 key alone or in combination with the Commodore key. Also, all document names were changed to include a letter 'e' in the name to indicate the English version of the documentation files. This means that GDH_Grundlagen and GDeH_Basics are the same file but the 'e' indicates the English version. All other changes to the text of the documentation are the result of the translation process and an effort to properly grammatacize the text for the English Language. No part of the text was deliberately altered or omitted to the best of my knowledge with the exception of the addition of the section on ^`1GeoDOS and Y2K`. All notices regarding distribution of the original GeoDOS files and GeoHelpView System pertain to the English translation as well. If you find any errors in the English Documentation please send an e-mail to: `321rbthomas`40100`321edmc.net Thank You and enGEOy! Bruce `1Return to GeoHelpView` `2 *** END ****` "GDeH_Copy/File",10 "GeoHelpView.1e",01 e",01 w.1e",01 `2Where to Start` The files contained in this package are just the ones required for the GeoDOS Help System. The GeoDOS System itself is available in a separate package. To use this English Documentation delete all files from your existing GeoDOS disk/partition whose names begin with 'GDH_' (these are the Help System files). Then, copy all of the files from this Zip package to your disk/partition, replacing any files that already exist. To use the Help System run the file 'GeoHelpView' (or press the key while using GeoDOS). This will open the Main Page of the Help System. The best place to start to learn about the Help System is to choose this Red link near the bottom of the page: `321GeoHelpView ... The Help System in Detail` After clicking on this link a different file will load. This file is the GeoHelpView.eDoc file. You will see the Table of Contents page for this file and a lot of links to good info. To learn how to navigate through the Help System click on this Green Link: `351Program Description` The page that comes up explains the Icons at the top of the page and how you can navigate through the Help System. Another page that helps figure out navigation is found by pressing the Page 1 Icon at the top of the screen and then selecting: `321GeoDOS ................... All About GeoDOS` Select the Red Icon in the middle: `3a1`40100 `3a1`40101 GeoDOS 64 V2 Overall Content When the Table of Contents comes up choose: `351The Basics of GeoDOS` When the GeoDOS Basics Table of Contents shows up use the arrow in the lower right corner to scroll down the list until you see: `351Roll arrows and Roll bars` Click on this link with your Mouse and you will learn how to use the arrows and display bar indicator on the right edge of the GeoHelp Screen (these are very similar to Wheels directory navigation tools and what you have in The Wave). Finally, in this package you may notice that there are two copies of the same file: GeoHelpView.1e and GeoHelpView.001 I did this to follow my naming convention of adding a letter 'e' in the file name to indicate the English version of the Help File. I then found out that, in order to call up the Help System by pressing the 'F1' key within GeoDOS the file had to be called 'GeoHelpView.001'. If you call up the Help System from within GeoDOS the '.001' file will be loaded. Once you move into any of the other files and go back to the Main Help System Welcome Screen the '.1e' file will be loaded. Send any feedback to '`321rbthomas`40200`321edmc.net`' and enGEOy this package. Bruce Thomas March 12, 2002
