NAME
clearhint - erase terminal's status line
SYNOPSIS
clearhint
[
-T terminal
]
DESCRIPTION
clearhint
erases the status
line (usually a ``25th line'') of the user's terminal. If the terminal
does not have a status line,
clearhint
does nothing. The program
is named for its main use, which is erasing messages sent by the
hint(1L)
program with the
-f
(make the hint last forever) option given.
clearhint
uses the
termcap(5)
or
terminfo(4)
database (whichever is available) to determine how to move the cursor to the
status line of each user's terminal.
OPTIONS
- -T terminal
-
Use
terminal
as the terminal type instead of the value given by the
TERM
environment variable.
