To Start A Game |
Place
a "Seek Ad" or challenge someone
directly.
- You can place a Seek Ad by clicking the
Seek button on the Games Sought tab.
- You can challenge someone directly by
typing "match playername".

To Ask For Help |
Tell a
Helper your question. Helpers all listen to
channel 1, so the easiest way to find a helper is
to simply ask your question on that channel.
- Talk to helpers on channel one by typing
"tell 1 How do I castle?"

To Find Out What A
Command Does |
You
can use ICC's online help system to get
information on any ICC command.
- Find out about a command
by typing "help command"
- Get a list of the most
useful commands by typing "help
intro"
- Find out about ICC's rules
by typing "help atmosphere"

To Chat With Other
Players |
You
can talk to another player directly, talk to
everyone who is listening to a particular chat
"channel", whispering or kibitzing
commentary on a game, or shouting.
- Talk to another player by typing
"tell playername hi!"
- Talk to a chat channel by typing
"tell channelnumber
hi!"
- Comment on a game by typing "whisper
Why did he play e5?" or "kibitz
Excellent move!". Remember: if you kibitz
your comments, the players can hear what
you say!
- Shout by typing "shout When does the
tournament start?" or "i wonder
when Kasparov will play next?". Only
registered ICC users can shout.

To Join ICC |

free trial membership, to let you try out all the

- Sign up for a free trial membership by
typing "register", or by
selecting Join ICC from the Connection
menu.
