WHAT IS THE ATTUNE SYSTEM? ==================================== Attune is designed to deliver important information to you exactly at the moment you need it, based on your individual computer configuration. Attune accomplishes this through partnerships with companies that create messages which will alert you to potential technical problems or other useful information. These messages are automatically downloaded to your computer each time you connect to the Internet. If you are about to encounter a common situation that is known to cause a problem, you will be notified before the problem occurs and given instructions on how to avoid or correct it. ==================================== C. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ==================================== - 200 MHz Pentium II or equivalent minimum - Microsoft Windows 95 or 98 - 32 MB application RAM - 25 MB free hard disk space - Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher ==================================== D. INSTALLING ATTUNE ==================================== To install Attune from the CD: 1. Place the Attune CD into your CD-ROM drive. 2. The Attune System installer will start automatically. 3. Follow the instructions in the installation dialog boxes. The CD is designed to automatically start the installation when you place it in the drive. If the installation does not start within 30 seconds, follow these steps to install the software. 1. On your Windows desktop, double-click the My Computer icon. 2. Double-click the CD-ROM drive icon. (Note: this is usually drive "D".) 3. Double-click the Setup.exe file to start the installation. 4. Follow the instructions in the installation dialog boxes. NOTE: If you received Attune by downloading it from a web site, and you wish to add another "relationship" to Attune, follow the steps in the next section. ==================================== E. ADDING AN ATTUNE RELATIONSHIP ==================================== Attune was specially designed to enable companies to provide you with information that helps you avoid technical problems on your computer. These companies are known as Relationships. To add a relationship to Attune: 1. Go to the web site of the relationship you wish to add. 2. Download Attune. 3. After the download is complete, you will be guided through installing the new relationship. NOTE: Installing a relationship requires you to install Attune a second time. During this process, however, Attune knows to only add the new relationship. ==================================== F. ONLINE HELP AND TUTORIAL ==================================== Attune provides you with two sources of additional information. ONLINE HELP To access Attune's online help: 1. On your screen, click the Start button on the taskbar. 2. Point to Programs, then Aveo, then choose Attune Help. INTERACTIVE TUTORIAL To access Attune's interactive tutorial: 1. On your screen, click the Start button on the taskbar. 2. Point to Programs, then Aveo, then choose Attune System Overview. ==================================== G. KNOWN ISSUES ==================================== - If you add a relationship, you will receive the Welcome Intelligram again. - The Online Help topic, "How did Attune collect the information in my Relationship Settings?", refers to an Attune "questionnaire" that you may never see. You may only see this questionnaire if you purchased your computer from a company that had pre-installed Attune on the computer. - For best results when using Attune, please set your computer display to Small Fonts by following these steps: 1. On your screen, click the Start button on the taskbar. 2. Point to Settings, then choose Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Display icon. 4. Click the Settings tab. 5. Under Font Size, select Small Fonts. (Note: you may have to click the Advanced button to access this list.) 6. Click the OK button. ==================================== H.
