DEEP SPACE NINE: "Blaze... " - REV. 03/21/97 - ACT FIVE 53. 85 CONTINUED: Sisko has to admit, he has a begrudging admiration for Eddington. He went out on his own terms. SISKO He died fighting for what he believed in. I called him a traitor once, but in a way, he was the most loyal man I ever met. He was a Maquis, right up to the bitter end. DAX Is that what this is? The end of the Maquis? Sisko thinks about it. Despite all the pain and trouble it's caused, Sisko's not eager to close the book on the Maquis. SISKO Who knows? There could still be more of them out there, hiding from the Dominion, biding their time. DAX You almost sound hopeful. SISKO There is something attractive about a lost cause. DAX Maybe you and Eddington had more in common than you want to admit. SISKO Maybe. Dax gets up to leave. DAX Good night, Benjamin. Try to get some rest. Sisko nods, but it's clear that he's a long way from the peacefulness of sleep. Dax EXITS. 86 NEW ANGLE On Sisko as he stands and walks over to his window.
