			five months. Because they have
			such a short gestation period,
			they vascularize very quickly.

	Sisko has brought over the brandies, handing one to
	each man.

					BASHIR
			Mother and child form a complex
			network of interconnecting blood
			vessels. To "transfer" the baby
			back to Keiko, I'd have to sever
			those ties, and that would likely
			cause a massive internal
			hemorrhage in Kira and a severe
			respiratory trauma for the baby.

					O'BRIEN
			So what you're telling me is...
			Major Kira is going to have my
			baby.

	Bashir nods. After a beat --

					SISKO
			Should be an interesting few
			months.

	They all look at each other, and then, as one, they all
	down their drinks in a single gulp.

12   INT. QUARK'S QUARTERS (OPTICAL)

	Quark is watching the monitor. On the screen is the
	picture of Quark and the Ferengi Futures Exchange Index
	hieroglyphics we saw earlier. The door CHIMES.

					QUARK
				(irritable)
			What is it?

	The door OPENS, Rom ENTERS.

					ROM
			Hello, Brother. You wanted to see
			me?

					QUARK
			Come here.

	Rom moves eagerly to the monitor.
